DRIVE THE GLOBE | Overland Adventures went to the Arctic Circle and beyond! March 8th, 2007 we departed from Edmonton, Alberta and headed north! The ultimate goal was the Arctic Circle via the Dempster Highway and beyond. The trek continued on over winter ice roads and ultimately reached Tuktoyaktuk, a small village on the Beaufort Sea (part of the Arctic Ocean) Along the way we traveled through the beautiful scenery of northern British Columbia to Whitehorse, in the Yukon Territory, the gold-rush town of Dawson City and then to Inuvik. Quite a bit of distance was covered in a short period of time. The total distance covered: over 4800 miles.
